Today, as it is becoming less and less common for people to be familiar with basic auto service and maintenance issues, it’s worth taking a few minutes to think about one of the very basic tasks you need to do on a regular basis checking the level of engine coolant in your Ford vehicle.

Your Ford’s engine coolant is important to your car. Engine coolant lowers the boiling point of water, which allows it to carry heat away from your car’s engine. When you’re low on coolant, your engine can overhead very quickly.

Checking the coolant level in your Ford vehicle is relatively simple. First, make sure to check your engine coolant when the engine is cool. Under your hood, you will discover a, overflow coolant tank next to your car’s radiator, right up toward the front of the engine. This tank is made of white plastic, and it lets you see how much engine coolant is inside. There should be markings on the side that will tell you if there’s enough coolant inside.
