Ford Tops Hybrid Sedans

You might be surprised to find that the best fuel mileage available in a hybrid sedan doesn’t come from a Toyota or even a Honda. Nope, bragging rights go to Ford and Mercury. The 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid and its corporate sibling the 2010 Mercury Milan Hybrid have achieved the best rankings for fuel economy in their class.

The ford Fusion Hybrid is a five passenger sedan that gets a whopping 41 miles to the gallon in the city and 36 miles per gallon on the highway. This beats out the 2010 Toyota Camry by several miles per gallon, as the Camry comes in at 33 miles per gallon in the city and 34 on the highway.

While Toyota’s Prius and Honda’s Insight are tops in the hatchback category, the Fusion and the Milan offer more rear seat passenger space and don’t have the lack of privacy that a hatchback tends to give.

Perhaps best of all, the 2010 Ford Fusion doesn’t look like a hybrid. Instead, it looks like a modern, stylish sedan, in spite of its amazing fuel mileage.

If you want to get the style and size of a sedan but the fuel economy of a hybrid, look no further than your Omaha Ford dealer to check out a 2010 Ford Fusion.

Clean Your Ford’s Tires

Your Ford vehicle relies on your tires to get down the road safely and efficiently. In addition, your tires say something about your vehicle, about how you care for it, and about where you take it. Keeping your tires and wheels clean is an important part of caring for your Ford vehicle.

You need to understand, from the outset, how the wheels on your Ford vehicle get dirty in the first place. The main source of dirt and grime on your wheels is brake dust. Brake pad adhesive is at the root of most of the wheel dirt problems. When that adhesive residue gets wet, it can etch your wheels. In addition, the metal filings of your brakes become hot during braking and may burn tiny holes in the finish of your wheels. You might also find small droplets that look like tar from the road on your wheels, which is probably re-polymerized adhesive.

It’s important that you pick the least possible aggressive way to clean the wheels on your Ford. Start off the cleaning process by using a detergent, and see if that will do the job or not. If not, move up to a tire cleaner. Try to choose one that isn’t heavily acidic, or you’ll possibly cause some damage to the wheel finish.
