Ford Unveils a New Super Duty Truck at Texas Fair

When one of the world’s biggest automakers wants to unveil a truck that is bigger and better than its previous models, why would they choose anywhere else besides Texas? That’s exactly what the Ford Motor Company thought when officials introduced the 2011 Super Duty pickup truck at the Texas State Fair in Dallas this month.

Although Ford has not released or discussed any horsepower or torque specifications for the new truck, officials claim it will have “significantly” more power than any of the current models with the Power Stroke engine. That means the 2011 model will have at least 350 horsepower and have at least 650 lb.-ft. of torque. Some are speculating that the new truck will have about 390 horsepower with 720 lb-ft of torque, but those numbers cannot be confirmed by Ford as of yet. Either way, we can expect something powerful for those tough jobs.

“Our customers do some of America’s toughest jobs,” said Mark Fields, the Ford President. “The new 2011 Super Duty offers them a truck with best-in-class towing and payload, all-new powertrains and even more capability than ever to help them do their jobs.”

Dealers should be getting the 2011 Super Duty pickup trucks early next spring. You may be able to call your Omaha area Ford dealer today and schedule a test drive for when the new trucks arrive.

He designed the Green Car Challenge in an effort to educate people about some of the newer alternatively-fueled vehicles that automakers are making these days.

The electric Ford Focus is one of the cars he uses on the course which is about 1,400 feet long. Ford plans to release a vehicle similar to the one Leno is using by 2011.

Ford’s New Taurus is Charging On

Ford’s new generation of the Taurus is surely something to behold. The 2010 version is back with a vengeance sporting a new look and even more features than before!

The Ford Motor Company is hoping the 2010 Taurus will be just as popular (if not more popular) than the 1986 version when it took the place of the year’s top seller over the Honda Accord. The 2010 version has an entirely different appearance on the outside to make a good first impression with its distinction and handsomeness. But that’s not all there is to the new Taurus.

The 2010 Taurus has the same base price as the 2009 version. Three Reasons to Keep Your Ford Service Records

When you take your Ford vehicle in for any kind of service, you should always keep records of the repairs, maintenance or work done. There are several reasons for keeping your Ford service records in a safe place. Here are a few of those reasons.

1. Service records help avoid confusion. You may think you remember exactly what you had done to your Ford vehicle four years ago, but memories change over time. If you have your service records from that repair or maintenance job, you can save yourself some frustration by knowing exactly what you had done.

2. Service records help you remember preventative maintenance procedures. Did you have the oil changed two months ago or four months ago? When was the last time you had the tires rotated? With your service records, you can avoid paying for a service too often and you can avoid going too long between maintenance procedures.

3. Service records help you get a better price when you sell your car. If you ever plan on selling your Ford and getting a new one, having your service records organized and handy will show potential buyers that you were serious about taking care of the vehicle over the years. As a result, you are more likely to get a price closer to your asking price.

Is your Ford about due for an oil change or some other maintenance procedure? If so, schedule a service appointment now at your Omaha Ford dealer. Just be sure to hang on to those records!

New Taurus Makes Debut in Kansas City

In a month of unveilings and debuts for the Ford Motor Company, the popular Taurus gets an unveiling in Kansas City, Missouri. The unveiling is just one part of Ford’s nationwide effort to boost sales.

In addition to Kansas City, the Ford Motor Company is going to 100 cities across the United States to unveil the new Taurus, which has undergone some major redesigns to make it even more stylish and powerful than it was in its previous generation. The Taurus is already one of the automaker’s most popular sellers, but new technology and upgrades should prove to increase its sales even more!

According to a spokesperson for Ford, the new Taurus is “more user-friendly” than previous generations. It is also more efficient for these times when everybody is trying to save fuel and the environment.

Many customers have turned their attention to Ford because the automaker did not take any of the bailout funds from the federal government like other companies did earlier this year. “We got people writing letters to us telling us that they really appreciate that Ford doesn’t take government money in that regard,” said one Ford official.

The 2010 Ford Taurus has a base price of about $30,000. Call your Omaha area Ford dealer today to schedule a test drive as soon as it becomes available in your area!

Ford Developing New System for Safe Texting

While many states are making texting and driving at the same time illegal, the Ford Motor Company is working on a way to make the practice safe – a voice-to-text system.

A voice-to-text system would allow the driver to say what they want to say and the device would turn the words into a text that they could send to whomever they needed. This would allow the driver to keep their eyes on the road and their hands on the wheel so they would not be distracted from the most important task at hand.

“A voice-recognition approach is better than brining in a piece of paper and unfolding a map or looking down at a mobile device,” said Jim Buczkowski, the director of electronics at Ford Motor Company. “We’re looking at various combinations of accomplishing that task because it’s being asked for by consumers.”

Ford supports the latest texting legislation that has been making its way around the country which includes a provision that states would lose 25 percent of highway aid if they didn’t ban the common practice of reading or writing text messages while driving. However, Ford does not support bans on hands-free devices.

Details are still somewhat sketchy about price and when this device will be available. With all the laws being passed in recent months, though, this will prove to be a popular device for Ford drivers who love to text and be texted.

“I’ve done 1,380 miles in a day,” Schaub said in an interview with the northern California newspaper. “I just figured 1,100 miles a day is the key number, and I should be able to do it, providing I don’t have a breakdown or a tornado to slow me down.” He also said he plans on driving between 16 and 18 hours a day to accomplish the task.

The trek is scheduled to end in Hyder, Alaska after driving 9,800 miles. The event is going to benefit the Ronald McDonald House charity in Stanford, California as people have been asked to donate a penny for each mile that he drives. So far, he has raised more than $70,000 for the charity.
