Have you ever wanted to take a road trip in a classic Ford vehicle? Dave Schaub, 59, of Los Gatos, California has planned the ultimate North American road trip and he plans on taking it in a classic 1931 Ford Highboy roadster.
Schaub has his route all planned out and he plans on driving about 1,100 miles each day traveling an average of 62 miles per hour. He leaves on Wednesday just after midnight, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

“I’ve done 1,380 miles in a day,” Schaub said in an interview with the northern California newspaper. “I just figured 1,100 miles a day is the key number, and I should be able to do it, providing I don’t have a breakdown or a tornado to slow me down.” He also said he plans on driving between 16 and 18 hours a day to accomplish the task.
The trek is scheduled to end in Hyder, Alaska after driving 9,800 miles. The event is going to benefit the Ronald McDonald House charity in Stanford, California as people have been asked to donate a penny for each mile that he drives. So far, he has raised more than $70,000 for the charity.

If a 1931 Ford can make such a trek, just think of what you can do with a brand new Ford. Visit your Omaha area Ford dealer today and get behind the wheel of a quality automobile that is sure to last for many years to come.
